Building a TeamFinding your champions
Whether you have volunteers or paid staff, building clarity and the resulting excitement can require a strong communication plan. The challenge for us was to re-engage a board in a new way with new ideas to be implemented. We needed the entire team to have a full buy-in if we were to succeed.
Because this Foundation Board had no working committees, it was important to incrementally build their knowledge base around a new initiative. Small, well planned storytelling with actionable steps allowed the board to internalize and be promoters of a larger movement.
Provided direction to the Board of Directors by posing small incremental challenges, co-creating solutions, and clearly mapping out the plan forward and the role each person could play in that plan.
An engaged board that actively raised support and was proud to encourage others to get on board as well. True champions.
