Figuring out how to educate youth during a pandemic is a complicated mess. Anyone recently thrust into the role as a homeschooler or is a teacher managing their own children’s needs in addition to their classroom is acutely and painfully aware.

Today, I’m going to show you how a small team walked through that mess and created digital summer school projects.  These projects will be used to inform on the lived, student experience with all its pitfalls and successes.

We used design thinking tools to get clarity on a few problems and devise a way to tackle them as a 5-week experiment. This will then assist the school district and the library on how to best proceed with a 1:1 digital approach to learning this fall.

I’m going to try something new this time and walk you through our project via video. Hope you enjoy the experiment and can find ways to use these tools with your own teams.
